Friends of Sacred Heart

Friends of Sacred Heart is a group of parents, governors and staff who organise various fundraising events throughout the year. There is a committee, chaired by Sue Ritchie, which usually meets 6-8 times a year. The events are also intended to be social events, to strengthen our school community and to be fun – and there has been plenty this year!

FOSH Events

Saint Patrick’s Day

Easter Chicks

Make your own pizza kits

These events provide a fantastic opportunity for parents and children to come together and share in the success of our school whilst raising valuable funds, which assist in enhancing the experience for each and every one of our children. Some of the key initiatives we have been able to fund this school year include arts and craft materials, wet play resources, flooring in the Nursery, five ipads for use in classrooms, outside maps and new trim trails. Amongst other contributions we are also delighted to present Year 3 children with a Bible when they start the Juniors and Year 6 pupils receive personalised leavers ‘hoodies’. We welcome all new suggestions for how the funds can be used and value your input so that we may continue to assist the school wherever we can.

The committee is supported on all the events we hold by helpers within the school community. As the old saying goes, ‘many hands make light work’. We are always looking for support and new ideas. In the past we have had several parents who are able to provide help though their business by providing raffle tickets and equipment for events for example. We also have parents who can offer corporate sponsorship on many events. Some parents are able to provide skills in catering, accountancy, building work etc. Whatever you think it is you can help with please do get in touch.

As mentioned above we meet 6-8 times a year. If you would like to find out more about FOSH you can come along to any of the meetings we hold. They are very friendly and we welcome anyone with new ideas and any support you can assist us with. Alternatively you can drop your details into the FOSH post box in the entrance porch or email us on fosh@sacredheart682.herts.sch.uk

FOSH is a great way to meet new people and being a part of our school. Please remember it is our children and their families who benefit from the support and funds we can continue to raise for the school

We look forward to meeting you all!
